English Language Challenges

Well, English at the university has been very important. There are many problems with my level of knowledge. Sometimes I think of the difference with my classmates: fluent language, easy ideas to connect and even, few nerves to talk about. Every day I remember the bad English I had in my elementary school. Then, it was not better.

So, in this scenario, sometimes I feel bad. Not for the conditions in the U, because they really are better. I feel bad because my level is precarious and I try so hard to learn. Maybe, the teacher notices this, but I try to improve every minute.

Without a doubt, I have learned a lot. Blogs help me write, practice, think and create. They are very important to apply the skills and knowledge learned. I liked the dynamics of this semester, I think the teacher had a good way to explain and an enviable patience. The method to press for us to speak in English is not annoying or invasive. I really liked the weather.

Finally, public policies in Chile are a disaster. I think the focus is on private schools. Maybe it sounds like an excuse, but the level of English is bad because it is not a priority for the government. Except when he want to get representatives for some tournaments abroad. In any case, learning depends on each one.

Sometimes I would like to talk more fluide. In this case, I could talk everywhere, and would have the opportunity to travel the world more easily.

Improving the learning experience

My experience in English has been enriching. For many things, first, I have learned to write better, my ear has deepened for the "listenings" and I know many more words. I have had three professors at the university and each one helped me to improve.

I remember when I was in the first year and I took the exam to know what would be the level of English for me. I did not to respond nothing because my memory failed me. Then, the system sent me to the first level. Since then, my English has improved, I think.

Undoubtedly, new technologies have changed the conditions of study. Now, everything is on the internet. Activities to listen to, write assignments, however, I believe that this should be used only to complement, not to learn. We know that the evolution give will us many new tools.

Now, I am obliged to know and speak English because my future profession requires that I speak this language. If I want to travel the world doing journalism, I should know a minimum of English. The ability to start a conversation and understand.

I like that some teachers ask you to speak in English. In addition, they speak everything in this language. This is the best method for me. There are many pressures, but bring the best of you, your true knowledge. Although nerves eat you inside.

Finally, I like the dynamics. Conversation, opinions, impressions, debates, anything contributes to learning.

Themed post

The reality of journalism in our country is multimedia concentration. There are two main newspapers: El Mercurio and La Tercera. Both represent the great chains that dominate the media in Chile. Everyone has a piece of cake or so you understand, a high percentage.

Then, with this scene, it can be difficult to enter a medium. Nepotism everywhere, competition with co-workers, social networks as its main judge, all depends on rapid production or, in other words, capitalism. This system has been the main problem in our society, but at the same time, the way in which all continue.

However, I want to enter into this world. I think radio is the only medium that can be trusted. Although full of publicity every five minutes, I like the dynamics, the nerves, the responsibility it has to inform all people.

Definitely, if we want to change the reality of our world, increasingly ugly and cruel, I would like to contribute, from my point of view, to my position in the media. I can do it, we can do it, from every element, from every person.

Anyway, to change we need time, responsibility, enthusiasm, will and more. We need more newspapers, alternative information, decentralization of the media, more opinion, more voices, new ideas, proactive people, new public policies to strengthen community radios. Since we can not eliminate private companies, they can help but with restrictions.

To get better our times, depend of us. Vote for me, Trincado 2022

Post graduates studies

I don't know. At this moment, I have many topics where to work. I like the social investigation, anthropology, ethnography and sociology. I believe that this items are very interesting and exciting because the society it's evolving. So, there is many problems that it need explication: the new networks of communication, new ways of relation across smarthphones, you know, new world, new order of the capitalism.

The bigs sociologists are europeans. France, Spain, England and other countries. So, I would like to study in some those exponents. Spain would be the best option because the language is spanish. But I like the challenges and if I can to travel to France or England, I could not let it scape those option.

Althought, to be honest, my conditions are very bad. I have not money for travel. Maybe exist some scholarships or subvention, to boost the postgrades studies. It would be a good options.

Now, I'm not those people class that it want all free. I believe in the hard work for the get goals. I'm sure that  save money it be the best way if I want to study after journalism.

So, I would be happy if I can to make postgraduate studies in my dear Chile. There is very good professionals, quality and opportunities.

I would like to get a diplomate in research about communication or sociology. I think that the journalist have a very important funtion like communicator.

Today there is a phenomenon bloom in our society: Haitian migration. Well, we knows it's not new but it requires of attention and many studies because we are very racist. I would be happy of study this new process in our country. Naturalizing migration as an essential practice of the new times, requires this. Awareness is little. The intolerance too much.

So, a postgradutes about this thematic it would be interesting because the migration it never will end and without doubt, our society will change.

My dream job

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a cop. I remember reading "Murder on the Canadian Express" and from there I wanted to wear the blue uniform. To be honest, my father told me "if you want to be somebody, you have to always fight". So I knew it had to be somebody.

In my head, police investigation is a great job and exciting. The adrenaline and the use of large cars, have the authority, because I think that this is the principal topic.

I wanted to get into the criminal brigade or in the drug trade, but I always thought that to see blood or a corpse, I should be able to do it, but it is impossible for me. Although, I was sure that this problem could be fixed in high school

I was sure and I wanted to investigate the requirements. But social pressure, when you're young in Chile, when people look at you and ask you: what would you study? Dad, mother, grandparents, friends, anyone. All people expect from you, it's difficult.
After the PSU, I thought about studying journalism. No one supported me except my family (mother, father, girlfriend). Oh, well, this is the most important, but I expected more from different people. Anyway, the dream job at the police officer was over.

Today I am in love with journalism. Life is so. Now, I want to travel around the world doing journalism. I love sports journalism, therefore, to know Europe or maybe, South America, everything, everywhere, in every country, in every field. I am going to be happy.

Salary? Oh yes, it's important, but I think there are other things more important. For example, I want to know many. Learning, listening, looking, etc. With sacrifice, hard work, responsibility and patience, people get important objectives. I want it to be so.

Dan brown

The last summer, I had an obsession with the books by Dan Brown. He is a famous north american writer that it wrote titles such as "El Código Da Vinci", "Inferno", "La Conspiración", “Angeles y Demonios” and others. His pen is wonderful because the stories are very gripping.

Each title had an adaptation in the cinema
I began with his book more famous “El código Da Vinci” and since that moment I could not have stopping. His stories have a little bit of everything: love, drama, riddles, conspiration, conflicts, blood, many money, power, etc... In Código Da Vinci, it talk about murder of somebody famous. From there, it is a true mistery everything.

Dan Brown is a loving of the Art History because in everyone his books he try to teach across pictures or poems of classic art the important things of the plot. His lead character is Robert Langdon and it's across of him that Brown talk about of Dante, Miguel Angel, Leonardo Da Vinci, La Última Cena. You can learn many thing and without doubt, one thing very important is this it.

Other point exciting, it's Brown's capacity to make that reader travel around the world. Every story is located in specific country or city. For example, Codigo Da Vince in The Vatican and Italy, Inferno in Venecia and after in Estambul.

Finally, I must highlight that Brown is working an new book called "Origin" that it to be published the next month. This story promises more drama, intrigue and exciting moments.

PS: Once you start, you will not be able to finished

Séptimo día

One month ago, I was in the Movistar Arena with Loreto Fuentes. She invited me to "Séptimo día" because her friend had a problem to go. I was very happy because I had never been in some show of Soda Stereo, or in this case, a kind of tribute.

Being there was one of the best moment in my life because I felt many emotions. Listening the voice of the Gustavo Cerati in my head, everybody singing every song. I remember when my skin bristled at the end with "De música ligera", because it was a different version. In fact, I recorded that last song.

Every day, I watch the videos of Soda Stereo and stop thinking about how I would love being on one of theirs shows when Cerati was alive. Maybe, Me veras volver in 2007. Anyway, I lost the chance.

I enjoyed it because I love Soda Stereo and his music. I knew it was not a real show, you know, with Gustavo Cerati, Charly Alberti and Zeta Bosio, but I had the certain that I enjoyed just like I was seeing them.

So, although it can sound so funny, I felt the presence of the guys in his music. C’mon, it was for me a consolation Cerati’s death.
